You try making an eagle sit still while you paint it’s toes……..!!

Fortunately Dean has had plent of experience.  You could almost call him the “eagle whisperer” judging by how calm this eagle remained while  in the kitchen at VBL.

 Is it open season on Eagles?

While they seem as thick as fleas, it is not part of any bag limit up here in the Great White North.  Unfortunately a number do succumb to “Eagle vs transport truck” encounters over the winter months……especially when road kill deer are used as bait.  This particular bird was picked up along the highway last winter, and after some legalities will now spend it’s summers indoors at Vermilion Bay Lodge.  Dean was gratious enough to tone down the lime green beak and feet that he came with.

    Hi Gord…Your ability to keep that eagle still while having its nails done was nothing short of amazing. Andy squirms all the place while I’m doing his. Any suggestions?

    Please note that Gord is not drilling through his nails. He is simply painting them.
