Ice Out Update #4…..April 17, 2016

We’re getting a good dose of rain this weekend which will help the lake level, and get the ice melting as well.

Here’s a rather dreary, rainy shot of what things look like today….

To put this into perspective, the following is a shot from last year on this same day.  If you remember, in 2015 the ice was gone on April 30th…..roughly two weeks from now.  Will it happen again?  Do you have your guess in?

    1. You sure have fixed that place up over the years. I remember when you were thinking of buying it and we went to see it, it was a forgotten lodge in dis-repair, lucky you guys saw the potential in it, amazing transformation

      1. Craig, I didn’t see VBL in the early years, but in the 10 years that I have been visiting I am very impressed with the constant updates that Gord is making. Nice to see someone care about their camp (never mind that it makes good business sense, too) and this is one of the reasons I keep coming back and recommend VBL to others.

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
