November fishing, part 2…..

Well, November 6th, and the weather is fantastic.  Time to make another try at getting to the swimming point and putting the flag and chairs away for the winter.  Of course we may as well stop along the way and see if those walleyes are still lurking in the same spot…….

Apparently they haven’t left, but they seem bigger today….a nice slot fish.  We don’t stay long, catch  3 smaller ones for lunch and then move on down the lake.  We poke around the point and get our stuff put away.  As we pull away from shore we decide to troll for some Fall musky……. “Fish On” before we troll ten feet………

Turns out Susanne’s 37 inch lake trout beats my 36 inch personal best.  A very nice fish to end this November fishing adventure!

Now, I have heard grumbling from some guests that I may be loafing around after a hectic summer.  To put this rumor to bed here are some visual updates on what has been going on.

  1. Way to go Susanne! Gord, very decent of you to take your lovely bride out fishing during this exceptional November weather. Fish as much as you can….then get back to work on cabin three.

  2. Gord…Glad to see you’re correcting that rather steep pitch in cabin three. Coming out of the shower, Andy slipped to the floor and rolled all the way into his bedroom. Though funny, a different guest might not have thought so. Donald Trump would have filed a lawsuit for sure.

  3. Awesome Job Gord
Glad to Susanne has not lost her touch and can still out fish.
Hey Professor You and Andy with me after the election?
Moving to Canada either way who gets in.
Gord said I could have one of the rooms at the lodge and work for him

    1. Hi Perchmaster…Good to hear from you again. Well, I’m staying put, despite Trump’s victory. That he could win while offering a steady stream of mostly boastful blather demonstrates how easily ordinary Americans can be led astray in search for hope. It’s distressing.

Please keep in mind that while the VBL lodge rooms are nice, compensation for work typically comes in the form of walleye cheeks, not cash.

      1. Always good to have a back up plan
I work cheep Professor. Change of life style would be worth it.
Just having to put up with Gord everyday might even be worth the migraine.

  4. Good to see that the Gord Ford is getting some exercise this fall. With our home away from home getting some leveling upgrades, I suspect we won’t have to worry too much anymore about the coffee running all the way down the countertop when Gramps has the pot overflowing . With a screened in porch on Cabin 3, I’m bring my camp cot and sleeping out there……..why is it that the snoring gets worse every year .
