We’ve had a stretch of super hot (for us) weather that has seen some lake temperatures in around 80 degrees! Fortunately this weather has dissipated and water temps are back down around 75 on the surface. A much better condition especially if you are trying to release big fish. The two week forecast shows highs in the low 70’s and overnight temps around 60 degrees…..perfect!
On the fishing front walleye continue to be found in various depths but the 20-25 range seems to be the most consistent, especially early morning and evening hours. The Wesling gang did well on jigs and leeches while others had luck with either minnows or crawlers. A few muskies were caught and the report is that the weed beds are at their prime for the season.
For some reason this past week I neglected to collect fish pictures from our guests so I’m left holding the blog bag……no photos. In it’s place I present to you a sunset collection from Eagle Lake…

Thank you very much for making my get a way week so enjoyable. Dan and I had a great time. You and Susanne should be commended on how clean and well maintained your cabins and lodge are. I will recommend you to anyone that is looking to go to Canada fishing and I look forward to the time I can come back.
