What fish lurk beneath the ice?

The sun is shining, the grass is greening, the fish are moving…..and so is the edge of the ice on Eagle Lake Ontario.

Is there an Eagle Lake Ice-Out in the April forecast?

Rainy morning on the last day of April, 2011

The last day of April and still hard stuff getting in the way of an April Eagle Lake ice-out.   Sorry to all those optimists out there who thought we might have an early Spring like 2010.

Looks like May for  an Eagle Lake ice-out

  1. Looks like I was close but NO cigar!!!!
I can see you now putting in those boats and fixing up those piers..
    Now get to work!

  2. Cheryl tells me the ice is out on Myers Bay. Looks like my guess of the 18th isn’t going to be anywhere close, so you can tell Omar to stop knitting the sweatshirt for me. Terry

  3. Yea Dustin but we will be giving them very sore mouths…
How about that the picture finally showed up after several try’s and 2 day’s later.
They will be there come opening day!!!!

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
