Easter Ice Out Update…April 16, 2016

The weather has taken a turn for the worse today with some cold temps and a bit of snow flurry activity…..

Yesterday however was great.  The ice is looking black and rotten.  Is it foreshadowing impending open water?  Are you kicking yourself because you guessed May 3rd?  (Duane, what were you thinking!)  Let’s have a look at what yesterday looked like…

    1. Actually most people are guessing pretty tight to what could be the actual date…….it’s hard to poke fun at someone who might only be off by 6 or 7 days……not that I wouldn’t do it if I could!

    1. Such a bad attitude Joe. Let me offer you these words of wisdom from William Shakespeare…..”

Suspicion always haunts the guilty mind

“. Go forth and cleanse thine self!

      1. I surely hope this doesn’t mean that we have to see more pictures of guys coming out of the sauna in their speedos……I still can’t unsee the one of Gord and Jeremy Wade…

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
