How are the water levels and what are your predictions for opening week-end 2010?
I’m sure your busy getting things in order but with this nice weather you have had you should be done with your honey do list by now…..
Good Luck this season to all the VBL guest and may you hook into the big one this season…

  1. Perchmaster,

We are planning an extended stay at VBL that includes the last week in May and the first week in June. I think you are up there for one of those weeks? The professor and I look forward to meeting you. Maybe we should plan on one day when we could hit Gord with a double dose of perch? That would be one way to hone his fillet skills for 2010?

We will be arriving May 21st in the evening and will be there through the following Friday so you will be there when we are we could do that, not sure if we will all be allowed back to VBL after we bring back 200"BULL PERCH" but it would be fun to watch Gord clean for hours while we suck his booze and beer….
When is your arrival date Andy?
I thought maybe with this post I could get some answers to our question but guess not…

  3. Perchmaster,

If all goes as planned, we will be arriving Saturday morning, May 22 and leaving on June 5'th. We look forward to swapping stories and observing gord's filleting skills. Gord takes a lot of grief on this blog, but it is always a highlight of the summer visiting the Bastables!

  4. We'll be down July 17th through the follwing Saturday early AM. Pushed our trip back by 7 weeks to just see what the fishing is like at a different time of the year.

I was runner up for the position in Korea, so unless the primary does not take the job, I will be there as planned.

Fishing is good here in Kansas right now. Took my little one last weekend and he caught his first Catfish and Carp.

The catfish really freaked him out. He almost gave up fishing! I can imagine though that to a 3 year old it would look like a monster. The Carp was a great fighter and took some time to get in the boat. Released all for others to catch too.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
