2012 Musky Madness Week

Nine muskies caught during the 5 day Musky Madness week……..

The contest ran Sunday through Thursday with an evening break for the Wednesday night shuffleboard tournament at the Bay-view Hotel.  There wasn’t a day that a musky wasn’t entered!  The “Boyes” group in cabins 5 & 6 did particularly well for their first time at VBL…a 44 incher caught on day one by Trevor Benner.

Planning for 2013…..

Musky Madness Week next year will be September 7-14.  Already half the cabins have been booked for next year, so if you are contemplating joining in on the fun the time is now!

Muskie Footnote…

Kevin Black’s 46 1/2 inch release on the last day of the contest (Thursday) was Kevin’s personal best muskie “ever”.  Little did he suspect that the next day he would top that fish with an exceptional 50 inch Eagle Lake muskie, caught in the same spot and on the same lure!  Congratulations Kevin and to everyone else that caught a personal best during a very successful Muskie Madness Week.!

  1. Hey! That is a good report on the Muskie Madness Week.
I like reading about all those muskies being caight and released.
The “Pike Punker” lure should probably be re-named the “Muskie Punker” ?

  2. Gord,

You might be able to lure back team professor if you had a teal river rod as a prize for walleye madness week? Nice results, and what a nice set of prizes and trophies. I really like what Charles did with the paddle trophy.

Testimonials

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
