Current ice conditions:  2 feet of solid ice covered by slush, water and snow.  Current weather conditions:  setting temperature records.  Eagle Lake ice out?

Eagle Lake ice out…“The Contest”

This contest is simple.  The first person to email me (Gord) with the correct date for the ice to be gone in Vermilion Bay will be the winner of the Eagle Lake ice out contest.  As usual the determination of when the “ice is actually gone” will be determined by the technical wing of VBL with all decisions being final…….no matter how much Andy whines.  The reward?  Your choice of a fabulous Vermilion Bay Lodge garment of your choice.  Remember:  The 1st person to guess the right date wins…you have only one guess.  Do you bide your time for accuracy or do you jump the gun to be the first on a particular date?  Only you can decide!  All guesses will be kept secret in the Electric Beaver vault.  Anyone can enter the contest.  The only stipulation is that the winner must pick up his / her prize here at the lodge.

    Nice job on the pics Gord
    I have to ask though how come you always manage to catch the smallest perch in that area of the lake?
    Ice fishing in shorts in March go figure.
    Ice out on most of the lakes in NE Wisconsin and south.
    What a winter it was!!!

    In the picture of Susanne in shorts I am seeing a pattern on the ice that looks like “crop circles”. Would these have been left by the alien perch anglers from Green Bay?

    Speaking of patterns Gord, don’t you typically make one last nude snow angel before the snow dissapears? Or was that your guest in the bright yellow bikini?
