Ice Out, 2016

With today being the first day of Spring it’s time to roll out our annual “Ice Out Contest”.

The rules are simple so that even the average fisherman will be able to participate!  You have one chance to predict the day that Vermilion Bay will be ice free.  What’s critical is that you are the first one to pick the correct date, as there is no second place glory.  The dilemma is whether to bide your time, monitor the ice out updates that I will be providing, and hope nobody scoops your prediction……..or take a leap of faith and send in your guess right away.  Your prediction should be emailed to Gord  ( vbay@drytel.net ) and will remain secret till the conclusion of the contest.

To get you in the mood here’s a few shots from last week…

Contest Update!

Since taking these pictures a week ago several things have happened.  Firstly, the Electric Beaver site went down and I was unable to start the contest.  Secondly I spent an enjoyable week down in the Baja, Mexico with Susanne.  Thirdly while away we had rain storms, warm temps, and a nice 15 inch dump of snow.

Good Luck…. and stay tuned for updates!

Testimonials

This is a first class resort located on Vermillion Bay on Eagle Lake. The cabins are very clean and well kept. The boats are new with new motors and are in great shape. The owner will also clean your fish for you after your day on the water. Make no mistake the fishing on Eagle Lake is world class.

The Lodge is owned by Gord and Susanne Bastable who will make you feel welcome and before you know it you feel like family. They are the best of hosts. The atmosphere is low key and laid back leading to a great vacation.

This is my 19th year of enjoying the hospitality of the lodge and i can’t think of going anywhere else on Eagle Lake.
