Early Spring Fishing

Exceptional Early Spring Fishing

Early Spring Fishing

With the beginning of May on the horizon, it isn’t too early to begin thinking about early spring fishing.

This year the walleye season opens on May 21 which, considering the pace of ice-out on Eagle Lake, is probably a good thing.

Cold Water And Early Spring Fishing

One of the nice things about a late ice out is cold water…….and cold water equals great shallow water lake trout fishing!  In past years a late spring has also produced some big walleye and pike for those fishing out of Vermilion Bay Lodge in May.

If you haven’t thought of fishing this time of the season, then you really need to reconsider!  Early spring fishing can be exceptional!

Testimonials

On behalf of the Boyes Group, I would like to pass on our sincere thanks for hosting the Muskie Madness Week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at VBL and had a great time!! This was our 7th year on Eagle Lake and we have stayed at a few other lodges but VBL takes the cake hands down! You can definitely count us in for next year. I’m happy to see you post some of my pics, they turned out well. Thanks again Gord for a wonderful week of fishing and your stellar hospitality, you run a first class operation, we look forward to seeing you next year!
