May Fishing Update: Is it all about the “glamor fish?”

Oh, bulbous nosed denizen of the murk

How maligned your visage has become.

Is it your lips, so flaccid and pouting?

Or simply your lack humility…

…for one so lacking in a nose to be so proud.

You may scoff at the shiny musky, or dim witted walleye

but only a sucker can look so bad yet look so cool

in the presence of Bryce dealing the cruel hand of “coitus interruptus”.

A nice trout from yesterday evening who liked my trolling presentation.  While not possessing the character of Bryce’s sucker, it was a much better fighter…..and released to fight again.

Going under to see what all the fuss is about!

  1. Can not wait, 18 days until we head up to Eagle Lake. Hope you have all the hot spots picked out for us Gord……

  2. There once was a canuck named Gordon whom his clients often relied on to find them a trout with a beautiful snout but suckers were all they were put on!

  3. Last night here….half-day fishing tomorrow and then on the road.
I’ll work on a report! Figured since we started the fishing reports with Suckers, I’ll write one up on some Whitefish.
We’ll ease into the Walleye, Lake Trout, Smallies, and Pike. No need to rush it…

  4. Gord,
If you had a contest, I could tell where every one of those fish were caught. Bryce, Gord is steering you in you in the wrong direction. If you want to become the most eligible bachelor in Vermilion Bay, you shouldn’t be taking kissing lessons from a sucker.

Testimonials

This is a first class resort located on Vermillion Bay on Eagle Lake. The cabins are very clean and well kept. The boats are new with new motors and are in great shape. The owner will also clean your fish for you after your day on the water. Make no mistake the fishing on Eagle Lake is world class.

The Lodge is owned by Gord and Susanne Bastable who will make you feel welcome and before you know it you feel like family. They are the best of hosts. The atmosphere is low key and laid back leading to a great vacation.

This is my 19th year of enjoying the hospitality of the lodge and i can’t think of going anywhere else on Eagle Lake.
