It was all smiles and hugs upon our arrival at VBL. What a lovely place to be in May. It’s been a long winter and we could hardly wait to get fishing.
Things suddenly turned dark when we heard the scream from Susanne in the lodge….”Mr Binky is gone”.
Sure enough. An evil ransom note. With a tear rolling down her cheek, Susanne shared the story of Mr. Binky. He was a special gift from the Perchmaster and his partner Mark. “Who would do such an evil thing?” Sobbed Susanne.
Like a game of Clue, it was time to start examining the evidence. There were too many likely suspects in camp and nobody left behind a bloody lead wrench.
Susanne pondered, “Is Mr. Binky o.k.? The Clown gets it?”
Sure enough. A photo of the once prominent Mr. Binky. He appears to be o.k. The real question? Will Gord spill the top secret fishing secrets shared over the years by the Perchmaster?

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.
What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
