Neil & Ernie……..

Here’s a few pictures from Neil & Ernie Hull’s first trip up to the lodge (May 23-30). Apparently they had a good time and caught a few dandy’s. I particularly like the view from their bathroom window in cabin #5. Just one of those things that after 16 years I just never noticed. Probably because I’m either fixing something or painting something when I’m in that particular location. Perhaps if Neil reads this he can post the link to the rest of his pictures from the trip…….I’m too slow to figure out how to do that.
Neil said he particularly enjoyed the company of the Wisconsin boys and hopes to be up next year when they are at the lodge. Misery likes company I guess!

I'm glad someone enjoyed our company you sure the HELL did not!!!!
Great job on first time guest finding lake trout and nice size pike!!!
GREAT picture from the bathroom window I never looked at it that way myself guess when your standing doing your thing you are watching not to miss the bowl more than anything?
Look forward to some pictures from the gentleman who appreciate us Wisconsin Cheeseheads!!!

  2. "you sure the HELL did not!!" Wow, that's a little harsh! Where's the LOVE?

Neil was most impressed there were other people in camp (particularly Mark R.) who seemed to enjoy their beverages more than he did.

  3. LOL.

It was good to meet them, and I had a good conversation one night with the father on the deck while I was working the grill!

Glad to see they enjoyed themselves as well!

  4. Yea well some of us can't drink like a fish!!!!!
    HAHAHA!!!!
I was not "HARSH" I was just ribbing you a little that's all. You know "LOVE IS IN THE AIR"
    Gord.

  5. We had a good time indeed. We enjoyed misery so much that we requested to be notified when it makes it's annual reservation.

There are more photos and I will work on getting them posted too.

Taking the photo out the bathroom window while holding the camera and not the tool was messy indeed, but I had to take that shot! No pun intended!

The views around Vermilion Bay were spectacular to say the least. Many times we saw the beer donkeys bringing massive quantities of liquor up and down the lodge trails. Hee Haw, Hee Haw! I have photos of them too, but we are waiting for National Enquirer to make us an offer for them before going public.

I'm sure Mike is going through withdrawals now that the Wisconsin boys left. If all treat Mike as we as they did, I doubt he'll go back to school. He has it made! Mike was a great host too and is a great young man. He will do well, which is amazing considering the many summers he has spent under the duress of the Perchman and others.

Dad and I now know the hot spot and the much guarded secret spot that Gord made us swear to never reveal. Dad was especially impressed with the secret Trout cage in Walleye Hwy. Since Gord had already emptied the Walleye cage for the annual Walleye tourney, we did not get to see the 30+ inch Walleyes.

Next year I will be ready to match the Professors skills in Walleye fishing. I have ordered an extra long appendage with green glove attached and it should be here in time this summer for me to practice the cast and pitch with.

The fishing here in Kansas is in full swing now, but it does not compare to the fishing we experienced at Eagle Lake!

    Bye for now.

    Neil

  6. Hey Neil

Yea a couple more weeks and I think we would have Mike very spoiled if you know what I mean!!!
Glad to see you Kansas guy's had a great time and want to join again next season.

Now this one can be pinned on one person and that would be Mark R. He is the one who has been tooling Mike over the years. I can't and won't take any credit for this.Nor would I want to I hate it when I get put on Susanne's "BAD" list.

Testimonials

This is a first class resort located on Vermillion Bay on Eagle Lake. The cabins are very clean and well kept. The boats are new with new motors and are in great shape. The owner will also clean your fish for you after your day on the water. Make no mistake the fishing on Eagle Lake is world class.

The Lodge is owned by Gord and Susanne Bastable who will make you feel welcome and before you know it you feel like family. They are the best of hosts. The atmosphere is low key and laid back leading to a great vacation.

This is my 19th year of enjoying the hospitality of the lodge and i can’t think of going anywhere else on Eagle Lake.
