  1. Hey! Outdoor Canada! You’re really getting on my nerves. Now everyone will start catching muskies on surface lures. Damn you Bastable ! You’re given away secret fishing techniques. Let me get this right, You cast out then “adjust the boat motor”. Ok, I’ll give that a try next time.

  2. Wow! “Legendary” musky guide, no less. Joking aside, good piece well written, with pretty good pictures, too. Glad he included you, Gord.

  3. Charles: Yes, the secret is in not showing any interest in catching your prey. Motor adjusting, harmonica playing, eating a sandwich……are all proven methods for fooling Mr. Musky.

Jay: Legendary, yes, I’m afraid it’s true…..That means I’m so old I’ve moved from “Young Gun” to “Legendary”. Must be the grey hair………

Testimonials

On behalf of the Boyes Group, I would like to pass on our sincere thanks for hosting the Muskie Madness Week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at VBL and had a great time!! This was our 7th year on Eagle Lake and we have stayed at a few other lodges but VBL takes the cake hands down! You can definitely count us in for next year. I’m happy to see you post some of my pics, they turned out well. Thanks again Gord for a wonderful week of fishing and your stellar hospitality, you run a first class operation, we look forward to seeing you next year!
