Winter is back, life of a dog, and some inspirational fishing photos…

Did we seem to think that because the ice was gone that Spring was around the corner?  Wrong……..two shots from today, several hours apart.

It’s bad enough that the highway is closed in both directions.  Terrible if you are a traveler, but not so bad if you are a dog.  Here’s some examples of the cheap entertainment Stella and Lily get to experience every day…..”it’s squirrel time!”

The squirrels want the bird seed, the dogs want the squirrel.  Patience does pay off.  A number of the less agile squirrels have become saliva covered lawn ornaments……

Fishing Opener is coming……

Time to pull out the gear and prepare.  Phase one is Early Spring.  We’re talking prime time for shallow water lake trout, big pike and some chunky walleye.  Let’s see some results from the past….

This is a first class resort located on Vermillion Bay on Eagle Lake. The cabins are very clean and well kept. The boats are new with new motors and are in great shape. The owner will also clean your fish for you after your day on the water. Make no mistake the fishing on Eagle Lake is world class.

The Lodge is owned by Gord and Susanne Bastable who will make you feel welcome and before you know it you feel like family. They are the best of hosts. The atmosphere is low key and laid back leading to a great vacation.

This is my 19th year of enjoying the hospitality of the lodge and i can’t think of going anywhere else on Eagle Lake.
