Teal River September 9, 2013 at 7:04 am Reply Ouch! Did you push the barb through to cut or flatten it to facilitate removal? Hope the boys caught some fish on that lure.
Gord September 9, 2013 at 7:16 am Reply I use the string method….hold the hook down and give it a yank. The cheek was tricky, as it is pretty elastic. That lure caught them a musky….
Andy September 11, 2013 at 12:48 pm Reply Dr. Bastable, I once knew a doctor in Grantsburg, Wisconsin who had a whole wall of musky lures hanging in his office. They were the baits that he had removed from patients over the years that donated their lure to the wall of shame. I think you should do the same in the fish house? There is also a discussion on this topic right now on Walleye Central (fish hook in the face).
charles weiss September 10, 2013 at 10:22 am Reply YIKES! I feel your pain man! I guess that lure catches a lot! Great sunset photograph.
Andy September 11, 2013 at 1:00 pm Reply Red skies at night, fisherman’s fright? Red skies at night, blood in sight? It’s time for everyone to check out the movie “Blood Hook” filmed in Hayward Wisconsin. It’s a story about a guy named Gord, who kills Anglers with musky baits during “Musky Madness” and then puts them on a stringer at the end of the dock. See the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg_9e_dvHxU Or the whole movie on Youtube (skip ahead to the 2:40 mark): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VI7ntoJNEk Gord, you should probably have a movie night as part of next year’s Musky Madness week?
Professor September 11, 2013 at 3:43 pm Reply I briefly met these two Robs. My first impression was that they are likeable, but a danger to society.
charles weiss September 12, 2013 at 1:14 pm Reply Doctor Gord: I have a copy of the VIDEO Blood Hook! It’s got the lowest production values and typical B Grade script. You could start a Muskie Madness film festival!?
Andy September 14, 2013 at 8:42 pm Reply We gave the Robs some live bait before we left camp. It looks like they graduatedto to big boy lures. Rumor has it that they were seen running around camp with scissors as well.
