2020 Ice Out Update…8.0

Conditions are changing rapidly…

With a strong west wind the ice has headed towards Strawberry Island and Johnson’s Point leaving about half the bay with open water at this time (4:00 p.m.).

May 2nd, 2020 in the morning looking towards Gull Rock.
Morning shot of the creek.
At the Government dock in the morning.

I’m sure all those who have their guess’s picked for around early May are starting to feel all tingly. Is it the virus? No, just a frenzied anticipation of winning this contest!

Thanks again to Bob Swanson for putting together a VBL Tale for the last blog addition. Several others have made promising noises about doing the same….we shall see.

The last coat of varnish for cabin 8! A new kitchen counter going in followed by new flooring….

Testimonials

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
