Teal River June 22, 2014 at 3:10 pm Reply Hauling in big muskies on walleye rods in no easy task. Fortunately, I’ve had lots of experience. I’ve said it to many of my guests, sometimes the best way to catch muskies is to fish for something else. Props to my brother Greg for his deft handling of the net. Of course, fishing with me, he’s had a lot of practice. 😉
Perchmaster June 22, 2014 at 6:44 pm Reply Maybe a better quality rod would help to land those musky Brad? Just kidding I know your crafting rods yourself. Boats look great cabin #7 looks awesome and does it come with that maid service? 🙂
Andy June 23, 2014 at 3:05 pm Reply Those water levels are unbelievable. Pretty soon the competition will be boating back to “High Rock”. The cabin renovation looks very nice as do those new motors. I love seeing these continued investments! I don’t see any of the back walking rails installed in the bedrooms, but like the perchmaster, its nice to know cabin #7 now has staff for these things. If that is all an illusion there is still the bottle option that Brad found.
Dustin Kaehr June 23, 2014 at 8:44 pm Reply Wow…the cabin looks great! And I think you beat the deadline…..I would of lost the bet for sure!! Glad to see the new motors made it safe and sound this time, too! I’m sure the guests will be enjoying them! Enjoy the Summer! I’m working on the September trip!!
Charles Weiss June 24, 2014 at 11:48 am Reply THe creek wash out is really discouraging. I like all the new improvements to cabin and boats! I hope the muskies are swimmingclose to shore in more new spots!
Andy June 25, 2014 at 2:03 pm Reply Gord, did the road washout scheme keep guests for a few extra days?
Gord June 25, 2014 at 3:43 pm Reply Yes, plus I was able to boost my rates because of the “fly in status”…
Andy June 26, 2014 at 3:20 pm Reply Just like Hotel California….”you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave”
Professor June 30, 2014 at 4:08 pm Reply Hi Gord…Sorry to see the return of road problems. Mother Nature seems to have sided with Sucker Creek and against the road, again. After all you have done to be a good caretaker of the land and water, this is uncalled for. On a positive note, I was pleased to see Teal River Brad return to his old self. That picture of him on the floor is just like I last saw him. Was he snoring loudly as well?
Andy July 9, 2014 at 9:53 pm Reply Inquiring minds want to know. Did Gord get washed away in the floods?
Andy July 10, 2014 at 11:46 am Reply I just read an interesting article that said the Great Lakes water temperatures are 5 degrees colder than normal due to the chilling winter we had. I suspect this is also the case at VBL this year given how big Eagle Lake is? See: http://host.madison.com/news/local/long-winter-affecting-lake-michigan-water-temperature/article_26622ae4-90c1-50b0-a18f-4fd5f66cf281.html
Perchmaster July 10, 2014 at 6:23 pm Reply I’m not sure but I think they all went under. NO MORE VBL!!!!! Under water
