Eagle Lake Ice Out: Update #8

“Bamboo” Mark M. from Green Bay, Wi…close but no banana!

Eagle Lake Ice Out delay also strips Keith Mitchell a chance to take theoretical second place (there is no second place).

Yes, like a piece of toilet paper stuck to your shoe, the ice is hard to shake…

….and NO, the first place prize is not a banana.  Things are looking pretty sketchy in terms of “ice longevity”.  I’m sensing a winner any day now……..

The Eagle Lake Ice Out is almost over…

…stay tuned for the final report on the Eagle Lake Ice Out contest!

  1. Anyone besides notice a pattern here yet?
Seems to me all the people who brough in “PERCH” this past season have been booted from the contest once gain.

  2. Kurt,

Its always under the surface, but this is not the first time I have experienced perch discrimination. All you can do is fight back. Be proud of the perch. Bring in more the following year.

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
