  1. Excellent….glad they found what they were looking for! It has been very interesting watching what has been happening with the quality of the small mouth bass fishery. I saw some amazing smallies on the rock pile on Clearwater (My nephew Kyle caught a nice one last year when we were jigging for trout), and the fishery in “high rock” has been impressive the last few years as well. We have not mastered that fishery on Eagle (other than the far end of the lake) and I would be interested in learning more?

  2. Gord, thanks for posting the photos! We had a great trip and couldn’t have been happier with the fishing and the accomodations! The trip back to Caribou was definitely worth the effort. Can’t wait to get back next year!

    1. Thanks Mark. Last week we “stumbled” onto a new spot for bass. Mark and Janice Arnold caught about 50 bass….the largest 22 inches!! I’m not giving out details on the web, but let’s just say you drove past this spot several times….

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
