Happy New Year!

Hope your 2013 is starting out well…

It seems like it’s the middle of the winter, but already some thoughts are turning to Spring.  Time to retrieve the boats out of Clearwater Lake for an offseason makeover!  Unfortunately the trail was busy today….some might even refer to it as a “traffic jam”…

Caught up in traffic on the trail to Clearwater Lake....must be rush hour!Well, at least the dogs are friendly....but somewhat anxious to get moving.

Apparently the dogs don't like it when the anchor is thrown out...

It's a meet and greet on the portage trail.

Off to Burton's cabin on McGregor for the night. When stopped the dogs bark like crazy, but when they get going all is quiet...

You never know what you may bring back from Clearwater Lake!

  1. Hi Gord…What can you tell us about the “boat makeovers”? Do you intend to add some of those nice rod-holders that Andy has recommended?

If you’re looking for an outstanding vacation spot for the serious fisherman or a family get away you should consider Vermillion Bay Lodge on Eagle Lake, Ontario Canada. We have stayed at many lake resorts over the years, but none offer the simple pleasures of this one. The lake is large enough and holds enough fish for the most adventuresome fisherman and yet easy for local family fishing for young children. Bring your own boat or use one of the aluminum boats (20 hp) at the lodge. Boat dockage is well protected from the wind and allows easy access to the water.

What sets this lodge apart from most others is it is always clean, well kept with lots to do including paddle boats canoes, bon fires in the evenings and a just plain friendly atmosphere.
